Who We Are
Midwife Empowerment Initiative is a community-based organization based in Kenya dedicated to improving maternal and newborn health within local communities. We work closely with traditional and community birth attendants who have long supported mothers during pregnancy and childbirth using indigenous knowledge passed down through generations.
Maternal Health
We promote maternal health through community education on safe pregnancy, prenatal care, nutrition, hygiene and early medical support to reduce risks and improve the wellbeing of mothers and newborns.
Midwife Training
We train and mentor community birth attendants and traditional midwives in safe delivery practices, infection prevention, newborn care and emergency referrals to improve the quality and safety of maternal care in communities.
